Open up Wall into Kitchen

By WRW, 1 December, 2008, No Comment

Achieved a modern open floor plan look at a very affordable price. We did this by establishing the load bearing walls before we could give the customer the O.K. that this could be done with minimal demolition work. We accomplished this by supporting existing ceiling and removed dining room wall to add space to the kitchen. Then the customer requested, if possible, that we open up the living room side to give a more opening feeling. This kitchen started as a 11×10 room and opened up to a 11×20 kitchen/dining combo. After these pictures were taken the dining room hardwood floors were continued into the kitchen area. For a little bit of work they got a great open area to entertain in.

New Deck in Cary IL

By WRW, 1 December, 2008, No Comment

On this custom deck project the customer wanted to update existing deck with composite decking and if possible enlarging it to accommodate patio furniture and grill and still have some entertaining space on a limited budget. So to try to accommodate we stripped existing deck planks and added a couple extra footings, lengthened the deck joist by a few feet and added approximately 100 sq.ft to existing foot print. This saved the customer time and money not having to start from scratch. We completed the job by adding composite decking on a 45 degree angle and  two stair cases with railing.
